Watch Dogs is Ubisoft’s next game to receive the “treatment” of being adapted into a movie

Deadline recently reported that studio New Regency game adaptation is in progress Watch Dogs belong to Ubisoft go up widescreen. And Sophie Wilde, the actress from A24’s hit horror film Talk to Me, is in talks to star in the film directed by filmmaker Mathieu Turi and screenwriter Christie LeBlanc.

The plot of the film adaptation is currently a mystery, but the film will be set in Ubisoft’s blockbuster game universe. Each Watch Dogs game takes place in a different city and follows a separate hacker who is drawn into a sinister underworld.

Watch Dogs is Ubisoft’s latest game headed to the big screen. Other projects announced include a live action Assassin’s Creed series on Netflix and an adaptation of Tom Clancy’s The Division starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain. Last year, Netflix launched Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, this animated series is a combination of many different Ubisoft products including Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, etc.

Up to now, the Watch Dogs series has a total of three parts. Part 1 revolves around Aiden Pearce in Chicago, part 2 is about Marcus Holloway in San Francisco. And the newest game, Watch Dogs: Legion released in 2020, implemented a different approach, allowing players to choose from multiple playable characters in London’s dark ages.
