One of the characteristics of trading card game (also known as collectible card game) is its randomness, players cannot control the order of cards appearing. However, this is not true for the man below because just by chance, he picked up the entire set of 5 Forbiden One cards, causing a stir in the fan community.
Forbidden One is one of the iconic cards of Yu-Gi-Oh, includes 5 cards: Exodia the Forbidden One (Exodia’s Head), Right Leg of the Forbidden One, Left Leg of the Forbidden One, Right Arm of the Forbidden One and Left Arm of the Forbidden One. When having all 5 of these cards in hand, the player will win the game immediately.
According to Japanese Twitter user @KONBUmaster, that day he went to the riverside to participate in some construction projects here when he suddenly saw something floating towards him. After looking closely, it turned out to be 1 Yu-Gi-Oh cards, a few more cards like that floated in a moment later. KONBUmaster quickly fished them out of the water. Although they were soaked in water and the edges were a bit curled, they were still usable overall.
KONBUmaster also picked up a card bag that came with these cards, so it’s very possible that someone accidentally dropped them in the river. KONBUmaster’s story has made many fans immediately think of the episode in the manga/anime Yu-Gi-Oh when the villain Weevil Throw Forbidden One’s cards Yugi off the deck, except that Weevil threw them into the sea, not the river.
