According to a recent report by Reuters, Tencent corporation is implementing a development project mobile version for the famous action role-playing game “Elden Ring“. This information was shared by three insiders, more specifically, the Chinese technology giant is looking for a hit game to refresh its old game warehouse.
Tencent Holdings and Sony Interactive Entertainment teamed up in 2022 to acquire nearly a third of developer Elden Ring’s shares FromSoftware. Tencent currently owns 16.25% of FromSoftware’s shares, while Sony holds 14.09%. The rest belongs to Kadokawa Corporation, FromSoftware’s parent company. At the time of the investment, Tencent did not mention any potential projects. Tencent is the world’s largest games company – both a major player in the huge domestic games market and a major influence on publishers and developers outside of China like League of Legends creator Riot.
