Star Wars game just canceled: Potential but EA thinks it won’t make money

According to revelations from the development team and feedback from the demo version, the game Star Wars The recently canceled game had a lot of potential to become a good game, but EA said it was “financially risky” and canceled the project.

The game will be in the first-person shooter (FPS) genre and developed by Respawn – the studio once made Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2019 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor 2023. Rumor has it (according to Insider Gaming) that the game will be based on The Mandalorian and will be a linear level adventure across different planets in the galaxy.

Players will likely take on the role of a Maldalore bounty hunter, with a central system where players can level up their character, their arsenal, Galactic maps and spaceships, as well as choose Choose bounty hunting missions.

The game will have linear levels, along with large open areas, with different missions and secrets. Players will have increased mobility thanks to the rocket backpack (jetpack) so they can move easily and quickly. In addition, the game also has a system similar to Doom Eternal’s Glory Kill.

Stormtrooper will be the main enemy in the game, with different types of equipment such as Shotguns, sniper rifles, rocket guns… Players can also meet Bosses like the AT-ST. Each planet that players visit will have different dangers, such as outlaws, or competing bounty hunters…

The game is still at least a year or two away from completion, and there’s still a lot to do. But from what has been shown, it seems like a game with potential. Unfortunately, EA canceled the project and laid off 670 employees. Therefore, we will only be able to regretfully watch it sink into the past.
