Resident Evil 9 may be under development as open world game. This information was shared by Dusk Golem, a famous leaker in the world. This person said after the improvements of Capcom for RE Engine When making an open world game like Dragon’s Dogma 2, developers are eager to take advantage of expansion technology to build Monster Hunter Wild and Resident Evil 9.
Dusk Golem wrote on social network X/Twitter: “Here is a small piece of news that I will share. Capcom will usually greenlight new plans in three closely spaced parts. Prime examples are RE7, RE:2 & DMCV which were all approved quite close together to take advantage of their new RE Engine and the idea of remaking RE:2 also inspired them to go ahead with their RE: release plans. 3 & RE:4 remakes.”
This leaker went on to say: “Dragon’s Dogma 2 expanded RE Engine functionality to open-world games, and two other games built with this technology are Monster Hunter Wild and Resident Evil 9. The goal of both The three projects are all about maintaining the “soul” of the series. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is clearly still Dragon’s Dogma, Wild is obviously Monster Hunter and the same will apply to RE9.”
Capcom has not officially confirmed that Resident Evil 9 is in development while Monster Hunter Wild was announced last December.
