Voted for the best PS game without Bloodborne, Sony was called a coward

Pitting games like Uncharted 4 against The Last of Us Part 1 or God of War against Gran Turismo 7, Sony created a head-to-head style poll early last week, inviting players to vote on which game “reigns supreme.” And, although the selection list includes countless great titles from many different genres, players cannot find the name Bloodborne anywhere.

The poll has garnered thousands of votes since it launched on March 11, but there have also been plenty of messages from Bloodborne fans outraged by its absence.

“You guys removed Bloodborne from the list because you all knew Bloodborne would “wipe out” the entire list,” an unhappy player declared.

Bloodborne, end of poll,” another commented. “Now let’s remake it quickly.

Others couldn’t help but point out that this looks more like a poll of the best PS5 game ever than the best game in Sony’s full catalog.

Bloodborne is an exclusive PS4 game from FromSoft. The game is loved by a large community of Soul lovers and the Lovecraftian horror genre. Not only that, this masterpiece also expanded its influence to many subsequent games. Even though The Last of Us Part 2 was originally designed to be an open world action game heavily inspired by Bloodborne?

The above information was confirmed by the game’s co-director Anthony Newman via the excellent behind-the-scenes documentary, Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2. During the first four or five months of development, The Last of Us Part 2 is a game “Completely focused on close combat” and “gets bigger and bigger as you explore“, inspired by FromSoft’s fan-favorite adventure.
