The Game Awards, the gaming industry’s annual awards show, is fast approaching and this year’s event is expected to take place early next month. In the early hours of this morning, Geoff Keighley announced nominations give The Game Awards 2023which includes six major titles for the Game of the Year category.
The Game Of The Year award will be a confrontation between names including Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The KingdomMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4 and Super Mario Bros. wonder. The games receiving the most nominations are Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 (8 nominations), Spider-Man 2 (7 nominations), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (6 nominations), The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom (5 nominations) and Resident Evil 4 (4 nominations).
Elden Ring is the game that won the Game Of The Year title last year, surpassing many blockbusters such as God Of War Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Stray and A Plague Tale: Requiem. God Of War led the way with wins in six categories, while Elden Ring won four awards.
The 2023 Game Awards will take place on December 7 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, and fans can start voting for each category on the event’s official website. Below is the list of nominations for all categories.
