Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser wrote on X/Twitter that December 2023 is the company’s 25th anniversary. In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could become as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created play you love in an effort to be a part of that growth.” Houser’s tweet ended with the news fans have been waiting years for: “We are excited to announce You know that in early December we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game.”
Mr. Houser did not call the new game Grand Theft Auto 6, but instead used the phrase “the next Grand Theft Auto.” This could be a sign that Grand Theft Auto 6 will have a surprise title. If true, this wouldn’t be the first time the GTA series has dodged the numbers. The two most typical examples of the series are Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the sequels to GTA 3.
