Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness – Classic JRPG revived on the Mobile platform

A recent news show series JRPG games classic Shining Force is about to have a chance to revive on mobile platforms when HIVEthe Japanese subsidiary of Korean developer Vespa (King’s Raid), has acquired the rights to this game from SEGA to develop more new games based on popular IP. This agreement includes copyrights in certain regions worldwide; such as Korea, North America, Japan, China, …

The first title of this deal is titled “シャイニング・フォース~光と闇の英雄~”, officially translated as Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness. There are still no exact details about this game, but HIVE has confirmed that it will belong to the familiar simulation RPG genre. SRPG: Simulation Role Playing Game is where players can nurture other characters in a unique world. Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness is expected to enter Closed Beta in early 2022 before launching globally the same year.

Once a big brand of SEGA when it first appeared on Genesis 1992, Shining Force has now quickly “changed its skin” when switching from a battle game with role-playing elements to a more popular role-playing action format. Shining Force Neo’s important milestone was in March 2005 when this game arrived on PS2 and received a lot of praise from fans, creating momentum for SEGA to continue releasing many new versions thereafter.
