In today, January 23, dev Applibot announced that Nier Reincarnation will stop working on April 29 at 10 p.m. Pacific Time (1 a.m. April 30 Vietnam Time). Until then, the game will not have many new content updates, although Applibot has not confirmed that Nier Will Reincarnation disappear from AppStore or CH Play?
The last major update for Nier Reincarnation will launch on March 28, a month before the game closes. This update is called “The People and the World Act 3: Transmigration” and will complete the story of Nier Reincarnation. Developer Applibot shares: “We regret to announce that NieR Re(in)carnation will be discontinued after The People and the World ends. We want to express our deepest gratitude to players for your support over the 2.5 years since the game launched on July 28, 2021.”
Nier Reincarnation was and still is the only mobile version of Nier to date. The game belongs to the RPG genre with a gacha mechanism to receive items such as weapons as well as new costumes for the characters, all of which keep the original and unique features of the Nier series. Series head director Yoko Taro served as the mobile game’s creative director. In addition, producer Yosuke Saito and composer Keiichi Okabe also participated in making Nier Reincarnation. This is the second mobile title from PlatinumGames to be shut down in the past few months. World of Demons was pulled from stores on January 17th and will be permanently shut down starting next month on February 1st.
