Continuing the release DLC Phantom Liberty and expansion update 2.0, developer CD Projekt Red announced a collaboration with Anonymous Content to make a version live-action Brand new set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
However, this project is not a direct adaptation of the game, but instead will only be set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Information on plot details, characters, and actors are currently available. The cast members have not been revealed because the project is in the early stages of development. In addition, the developer has not confirmed whether the live-action version will be a TV show or a big-screen movie.
Media company Anonymous Content’s previous film and television projects include Mr. Robot, True Detective and The Revenant. The company is also currently working on Time Bandits from director Taika Waititi and Disclaimer from director Alfonso Cuarón.
The Cyberpunk franchise has achieved great success on the small screen through the series Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The film has drawn many people to Cyberpunk 2077 after the game’s tumultuous launch in 2020. With the success of the Phantom Liberty expansion and news of development on a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, CD Projekt Red is capitalizing on the game’s success by creating more stories in the media.
