Baldur’s Gate 3 developer conflicts with players, constantly being threatened

Since its launch in August 2023, there have been many updates of Baldur’s Gate 3 released to fix bugs and improve game quality. However, this causes difficulties for players using the version mod because they have to uninstall, reinstall, update, and reorder their mods every time a new patch is released.

In response to this problem, last week developer Larian Studios announced that official mod support is being developed, which is a positive sign to address the current situation. However, there is a small group of gamers who are not really satisfied with Larian Studios’ move, they constantly threaten and put pressure on this developer.

In a recent tweet, Larian’s Publishing Director, Michael Douse, called on the community to stop making threats and give them more time to discuss the issue further:

However, part of the reason for the anger of a part of gamers does not come from the delay in updating new features of Larian Studios but rather from the somewhat out of bounds statements of the studios’ staff. This. Accordingly, when some modders were discussing the fact that the mod could not run normally on Discord, this employee bluntly asserted that the developer did not care about the modders’ way of thinking. This caused a widespread outcry in the modder and player community. Some players believe that Larian’s announcement of launching a mod support feature is just to appease public opinion after his “slander”.
