Metal Slug National Championship (MSNC) is the first national championship for the gaming community Metal Slug: Awakening, and is also the first eSports tournament for the Run ‘n Gun game series held in Vietnam. The tournament takes place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, lasting from December 8 to December 24, 2023. After the Regional Qualifiers in the South and North regions, the 8 strongest teams in Metal Slug: Awakening community encountered at the National Finals and presented the audience with extremely satisfying firefights.
The ranking final is a competition between the two strongest teams in the tournament: Top Corps (representing the South) and Doan Cay Ruong (representing the North). As expected of being the champions of the two regions, all 6 players gave the audience a dramatic and eye-catching Mech Battle.

At the end of the season, with extensive experience and reasonable playing strategies, Top Corps excellently won an overwhelming victory over their opponents, placing their name as the first champion of the Metal Slug community: Awakening Vietnam. In both the Semifinals and the Ranking Final, the team always maintained their form and won an overwhelming “perfect win” against all opponents. Following very closely with equally impressive results is the Plowing Corps – Top 1 in the Northern region. The remaining two positions in the Top 4 belonged to Out Trinh and Spearhead Squadron – both representatives from the South.
Top Corps includes 3 members: Hua Tuan Kiet (1993) – Ho Van Au (1997) – Tran Ngoc Nhan (1999). All three joined the same Legion on server 1, played the game from the test version and accompanied each other in the official version. Diving into the “North” in the last days of the year, the three Southern boys brought both warmth and extremely “fiery” competitive spirit, giving the audience fiery competitions. Representative of Top Corps shared: “We came from far away from the South to the North. Before we could get used to the cold weather of Hanoi, we had to encounter the Plowing Corps – the potential name for the champion title – so we were quite worried and nervous. However, we brought the enthusiasm and ambition of the Southern brothers here, plus researched the opponent’s playing style in advance and devised appropriate strategies, and finally won the championship.”
