Manga Hunter X Hunter sets a record of 1,000 days without a new chapter

The Hunter x Hunter Hiatus Chart website tracked and pointed out the series’ most recent chapter manga Hunter x Hunter has been released since November 26, 2018. This is the mangaka’s longest hiatus ever Yoshihiro Togashias well as that of industry comic Japan. This famous series was suspended for exactly 1001 days, equivalent to 2 years and 8 months.

The series is also known as “Hiatus x Hiatus” (Pause x Pause).

Hunter x Hunter debuted in March 1998 and is currently being serialized, but is on hold for the time being due to the author’s health. A few years ago, mangaka Togashi said he was struggling with severe back pain, a disease that many manga authors encounter, and his condition would get worse when he sat down to draw. Although he has undergone surgery, it seems that his condition has not improved positively. Some fans believe that the reason for the delay may also be due to the author’s slow working speed. Not everyone can create a long-term series like mangaka Eiichiro Oda did with One Piece.

Mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi (middle) is suffering from severe back pain.

Hunter x Hunter was suspended from Issue 1 of 2019 until now. Up to now, the series has released 390 chapters with 36 volumes published. The author’s longest Hunter x Hunter publishing series is 30 issues.
