2024 looks to be a year of many changes for esports tournaments League of Legends (League of Legends) recently, Riot Games revealed many adjustments to the tournament system. Accordingly, the tournament results MSI will have a direct impact on the teams and competition regions in 2024.
Specifically, the championship team MSI 2024 will definitely have a spot at Worlds – the biggest tournament of the year in League of Legends. This will be an additional slot, not included in the total number of fixed slots for that competition area. To keep this spot, the MSI 2024 champion will still have to pass the Summer Tournament Playoffs in their region. However, this will also be a motivation for teams to contribute more excellent performances at the MSI tournament preparing to take place next May.
The region with the 2nd best performance at MSI will also receive an additional participation slot Worlds 2024. The number of teams participating in each region’s World Championship this year is as follows: LEC, LCS, LPL and LCK: 3 spots; PCS and VCS: 2 spots; LLA and CBLOL: 1 slot.
