Cross-play is already on the roadmap for Baldur’s Gate 3. This means users PlayStation 5 and PC will be able to play together online in the future. Confirmation information comes from Mr. Michael Douse, Larian’s publishing director. The director also shared that the studio always intended to make it happen Cross-Play But there are too many things that need to be prepared for the game’s release. The PC version launched in early August, and a month later, Larian brought the game to PS5. The Xbox version will likely appear at some point this year.
Mr. Douse said: “The Cross-Play feature was always in the plan, but we knew it wouldn’t be available from day one. Cross-Play is on the development roadmap and although we envision about when this feature will be ready to air, but we don’t want to set a specific date until everything is certain.”
When cross-play launches, fans can experience Baldur’s Gate 3 with friends. The title currently allows players to create characters and play together through online and split-screen multiplayer modes. Split-screen mode was such a challenge for Larian that the studio had to stop supporting it on Xbox Series S so that Baldur’s Gate 3 could hit Microsoft’s platform in 2023.
Larian Studios also highlighted in a pre-launch note sent to PS5 users issues surrounding the performance of the final chapter in the city of Baldur’s Gate. The developer said their team is working to fix the problem. Larian Studios also had problems with this area on PC.
